FAQs
This page answers common questions about naturopathy, womens health support and what to expect when working together. If you are curious about hormones, gut health, vaginal health, nervous system support, or how to get started, you’ll find helpful information below.
What does a naturopath do?
1
A Naturopath takes a whole-body approach to health - looking at how different systems in the body are connected rather than treating symptoms in isolation.
In my practice, this means exploring the relationship between:
hormones
the nervous system
gut health
thyroid function
vaginal and reproductive health
Rather than quick fixes, naturopathy focuses on understanding why symptoms are happening and supporting the body gently over time to heal.
What conditions do you support?
2
I work with people across a wide range of health concerns, including:
hormonal imbalances and menstrual cycle issues
PMS, PMDD and mood changes linked to the cycle
coming off hormonal contraception
vaginal health concerns (such as recurrent thrush, BV/bacterial vaginosis, or unexplained symptoms) (I have a blog post about vaginal health, go a check it out!)
gut symptoms like bloating, constipation, reflux or food sensitivities
nervous system dysregulation, chronic stress, anxiety, depression and burnout
thyroid related symptoms, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, autoimmune thyroid conditions and associated symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, feeling “off” despite normal blood tests
sports nutrition
If you are unsure whether your concerns fit, a discovery call is a good place to start.
Can naturopathy help if my tests are “normal”?
3
Yes - this is something I see very often.
Many women/people experience real symptoms even when blood tests or scans come back within normal ranges. Naturopathy looks beyond isolated markers and considers patterns, timing, stress load, digestion, sleep and nervous system function.
Having “normal” results does not mean your symptoms aren’t valid or that nothing is going on.
Do you work with vaginal health concerns?
4
Yes. I have further training in treating vaginal and genitourinary conditions and see this often in my clinic.
I commonly support women experiencing:
recurrent thrush or BV
HPV
vaginal irritation, burning, or discomfort with normal test results
changes in discharge linked to the menstrual cycle
Support is always approached gently, respectfully and with a whole-body lens.
I offer functional vaginal microbiome testing and interpretation to get to the root cause of your symptoms.
What does a naturopathic consultation involve?
5
An initial consultation is longer and in-depth. We explore:
your main symptoms and health goals
medical history and past testing
menstrual cycle patterns
digestion, energy, sleep and stress
lifestyle, nutrition and emotional wellbeing
From there, I create an individualised plan which may include nutrition, herbal medicine, supplements, lifestyle support and may suggest further or functional testing.
You can read more about the consultation process here.
How long does naturopathy take to work?
6
Naturopathy isn’t a quick fix or magic pill approach - especially when symptoms have been present for some time.
Some people notice changes within weeks, while others require several months of consistent support. Hormonal, gut and nervous system concerns often improve gradually as the body rebalances.
We move at a pace that feels supportive, not overwhelming. We look for the root cause and long term results, not just a bandaid approach.
Do you work alongside GPs and other practitioners?
7
Yes. Naturopathy works beautifully as part of an integrative approach.
I encourage clients to continue working alongside their GP and specialists where appropriate.
How do I get started?
8
The first step is booking a free 15 minute assessment.
This is a relaxed, no pressure conversation where we:
discuss your main concerns
explore whether naturopathy feels like the right fit
answer any questions you may have
From there, you can decide whether you’d like to book an initial consultation.
Do you offer online consultations?
9
Yes - consultations are available online, allowing you to receive support wherever you’re located.
*Unfortunately due to insurance purposes I am unable to provide consultations to anyone from the USA at this time.
